Gambian Vice President Muhammed B.S. Jallow will today take the global stage at the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York, delivering the country’s official statement on behalf of President Adama Barrow, who is absent from the high-level gathering of world leaders.

Vice President Jallow is scheduled to speak at 2:00 p.m. New York time 6:00 p.m. in The Gambia) inside the United Nations Headquarters.

His address is expected to outline The Gambia’s stance on pressing global issues while reaffirming the nation’s commitment to multilateral cooperation for peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.

The keynote, which forms part of the annual UN summit, comes as nations debate key international challenges, including climate change, global security, and economic recovery.
