The Gambia’s Vice President Dr. Isatou Touray is responding well to treatment as her second COVID-19 test result came back negative.!

“The Office of the President is pleased to inform the public that Her Excellency, the Vice President, Dr. Isatou Touray has been responding to treatment and her second sample test result which was conducted 5th August 2020 came out negative for COVID 19, today, 8th August 2020,” State House said in a statement on Saturday. 

“His Excellency has been informed and he wishes the Vice President and all those infected speedy and full recovery.”

The Vice President tested positive for coronavirus last week alongside four of her cabinet colleagues.

The Health Minister Dr Ahmadou Samateh who was quarantined after three members of her staff tested positive has been released after testing negative for the virus.
