The West Coast Regional Football Association (WCRFA) has urged its members and the public to remain calm following the circulation of a controversial warning letter from the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) accusing WCRFA and its president, Bakary Bojang, of interference in a recent playoff match.

Although the GFF later issued a statement distancing itself from the letter, WCRFA says the clarification is not enough to repair the damage done.

“We still feel that the second communication is not sufficient to clear the mess, the accusations, and the character assassination caused by the first letter,” the WCRFA said in a statement released Tuesday.

The association confirmed that President Bojang was set to address the media to clear the air but will now wait for the GFF’s promised investigation to conclude.

“It is against this background that the president of the RFA will remain calm until the investigation by the GFF is complete. Meanwhile, we will be vigilant as to the investigation process and remain calm until the issue is addressed,” the statement added.

The WCRFA urged all stakeholders to stay patient and keep supporting local football as the matter is resolved.
