Women and girls have been warned not to throw away their used sanitary pads, as reports emerge that ritualists are targeting them for dark practices.

A source, who spoke to Gambiana, revealed that ritualists are roaming communities in search of discarded pads stained with menstrual blood, which they allegedly use for rituals.

“This is a serious warning to women and girls, and even to men who live with them, to be vigilant about how these pads are disposed of,” the source said.

“There are ritualists going around collecting them for their dangerous practices.”

The source claimed that those behind the hunt for pads believe menstrual blood holds spiritual power that can be exploited in black magic.

According to him, victims of such rituals may unknowingly suffer health complications, psychological distress, or even mysterious misfortunes.

“These people are working with the devil,” he added. “Women must protect themselves safely disposing of their used pads to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.”

The chilling warning has sparked fear and debate in some communities, with calls for families to take the issue seriously.

Health experts, too, have long stressed the importance of proper sanitary disposal, not only to prevent disease but also to guard against such cultural threats.

With the alarming reports of scavenging on the rise, the source urged swift public awareness: “If people don’t act now, more women could become victims of forces they don’t even understand.”
