Gambian international Yankuba Minteh made a heartfelt visit to his former school, Bakoteh Upper and Senior Secondary, where his football journey began.

Now rising with Brighton & Hove Albion and the national team, Minteh’s return inspired students and staff alike.

Though now shining in the English Premier League and for the national team, Minteh remains deeply connected to his roots.

His visit brought excitement and motivation to students and staff, who see him as living proof of what determination, humility, and faith can achieve.

School officials praised Minteh not only for his footballing success, but for staying grounded and giving back to the community that shaped him.

“Yankuba is more than just a footballer, he’s a role model. His presence here reminds our students that their dreams are possible,” said a school representative.

The school offered prayers for his continued growth and protection, asking that Allah guide him in all his endeavors. His story continues to live on in the hearts and hopes of every student at Bakoteh.

As one teacher put it: “He will always be our Minteh a symbol of pride, resilience, and inspiration.”
