Yankuba Minteh lit up the Amex Stadium with a spectacular goal as Brighton & Hove Albion played out a 1-1 draw against his former club, Newcastle United, in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old Gambian winger curled a brilliant shot into the top corner to give Brighton the lead and continue his standout debut season.

However, Brighton were denied all three points when Alexander Isak converted an 89th-minute penalty for Newcastle, salvaging a draw for the visitors.

Minteh has been one of Brighton’s top performers this season following his transfer from Newcastle last summer. Across the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, he has made 29 appearances, scored 6 goals, and provided 4 assists, establishing himself as one of the league’s most exciting young players.

The result leaves both Brighton and Newcastle firmly in the race for European qualification as the season nears its conclusion.
