Gambia Under-20 team is the winner of the West African Football Union (WAFU)  football tournament after beating arch rival Senegal last night at Lat Dior Stadium in Thies.

Gambia took the fight to Senegal and were ahead in most of the game. Senegal came from behind to level up the match.

After 120 minutes played without a winner (2-2), the match went to penalties to decide the winner.

The Young Scorpions were too good for their Senegalese opponents as they showed tact and skills to beat them 4-3.

The win means Gambia will be participating in the African Cup of Nations Under-20 Cup next year.
