Three Armenian men including a father and son have been arrested as part of an investigation into the death of 26-year-old Youssoupha York, who was fatally stabbed in Saint Etienne, France.
The suspects aged aged 28, 32 and 62 are facing charges of aggravated assault and murder.
Youssoupha, 26, was stabbed to death
in a brutal attack at rue Colette, in the district of La Métare, Saint-Etienne, on Wednesday night, according to France Bleu.
The violent assault was captured on camera and shows the gang of about a dozen men surrounding the victim, Youssoupha, who stood no chance as he was beaten and stabbed multiple times in the stomach.
According to local reports quoting police sources the savage assault would have started over a petty issue as he was confronted by a gang of men who had become violent “apparently under the influence of alcohol”.
A racist motive has been suggested and
according to certain accounts of the incident the attackers were said to have uttered “as “Dirty black!” Dirty nigga! We’re gonna bleed you”. But for the moment police have ruled out any racist motive for the killing.
