The All Peoples Party-Sobeyaa (APP-Sobeyaa) has withdrawn from talks to form the APEX Coalition, citing a lack of agreement over a previously agreed power-sharing arrangement.
In a statement, the party said bilateral discussions with the coalition and participating parties had failed to produce the desired outcome on the power-sharing agreement and other outstanding issues.
APP-Sobeyaa said it could not support changes to decisions that had already been agreed by the parties without consensus.
“In the absence of consensus on this and other outstanding matters, APP-Sobeyaa has therefore taken the decision to withdraw from the APEX Coalition talks,” the party said.
The party thanked the APEX Coalition and other participating parties for their efforts during the coalition-building process.
It also wished the coalition and its constituent parties well as they continue efforts to build an opposition alliance.
