The Gambia Court of Appeal has upheld a high court verdict against Yankuba Touray for his role in the killing of former state finance minister Ousman Koro Ceesay in 1994.

High court judge Justice Ebrima Jaiteh last year sentenced Yankuba Touray, a former AFPRC military junta member,

to death for his involvement in the killing of Mr Koro Ceesay.

Touray however filed an appeal against the high court ruling.

But today a panel of the appeal court judges led by Justice Na Ceesay Sallah-Wadda dismissed the Mr Touray’s appeal.

She told the court that they agreed with the high court judge Justice Ebrima Jaiteh’s ruling against the former army captain and state minister under ex-president Yahya Jammeh who now lives in exile in Equatorial Guinea.
