APRC spokesman Dodou Jah is pushing forward for his party top brass to approve his candidature to contest the upcoming local government election.

Jah announced his ambition to unseat the incumbent mayor Ahmed Talib, Bensouda of the United Democratic Party, as the former ruling party entrenched their relationship with Barrow’s National People’s Party.

However, there is a scramble for the Kanifing mayorship, as some National People’s Party members seek to get the approval of the two parties.

“We haven’t still finalise the issue because we belong to a party and we are still listening. The ambition is still there, he said.

When asked if he will back up and support  anyone selected by the two parties.

He l replied: “You cannot do things on your own and we will go by what the majority agreed to.”
