Gambia Armed Forces Football Club have been relegated to the Gambia Football Federation Second Division after a 2-0 defeat to RS Tallinding United in the First Division Promotional Playoff semi-final.

Saikou Touray and Modou Lamin Sallah were on target for Tallinding, whose victory keeps their top-flight hopes alive.

In the other semi-final, Mamulie Ceesay’s sublime 76th-minute strike gave Samger Football Club a hard-fought 1-0 win over Colley Stars.

The result means the Armed Forces drop into the Second Division for next season, while Tallinding and Samger will face off in the playoff final.

The winner will earn the coveted promotion to the First Division. Samger is eyeing an immediate return, and Tallinding is eager for a comeback to the top flight.
