President Adama Barrow is in the Ghanaian capital Accra for the Ecowas heads of state and government summit. 

Barrow accompanied by high powered delegation arrived in Accra yesterday. 

Ecowas leaders are expected to discuss efforts to restore civilian rule in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea (Conakry).

The summit, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday 3 July 2022, is also expected to confirm the appointment of The Gambia’s Dr Omar Touray as the new President of the ECOWAS Commission for 2022-2026.

Also on the summit agenda is the economic impact of the Russia-Ukraine war as well as high inflation and product shortages.
