The Gambian President Adama Barrow has been told to enforce the law punishing corruption in the country.

Speaking during the maiden national dialogue among political leaders held at the State House on Monday, Raffe Diab, a key member of the Citizens Alliance, urged Barrow and opposition leaders to work toward enforcing the law against people found liable of corruption in the country.

“I want to emphasise on corruption because if we don’t fight against corruption and take it away in the country, the country will not develop. Therefore, I am urging all of us here to work together and enforce the anti-corruption bill that has been passed into law,” he said.

Last December, the National Assembly of The Gambia passed the much delayed Anti-Corruption Bill aimed at tackling corruption and graft in the country.
