A Benz driver is in serious condition after colliding with a truck between Foni Sutusinjang and Besse villages.

Eye witnesses said the truck believed to be from Senegal was overtaking another vehicle when it ploughed into the oncoming car trapping the driver and his passenger.

They feared the driver could lose his legs due to the severity of the collision. 

MP for Foni Kansala Musa Amul Nyassi, who was an eyewitness, described the “painful” accident scene.

“Today those trucks transporting fish from Senegal was coming and it was overtaking and collided with a Benz and it was only the driver and a passenger in the car. 

“It took us over two hours before we were able to take out the driver in the car because how the truck hit the car was terrible,” he said.

He added: “The truck hit the Benz until the engine clipped the legs of the drivers in between his seat and the engine and we tried our level best to take out the driver from the car. 

“We used all types of tools – axe – hammer to destroy the car door and take out the driver.”
