Berewuleng FC suffered a narrow 2–1 defeat to Senegal’s Aigles de la Medina in their opening match of the 2025 CAF WAFU A Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Senegal.

The Senegalese side took control early, with Ndeye Awa Casset breaking the deadlock before halftime. Aissatou Chris Ba extended their advantage in the 57th minute, putting Berewuleng under mounting pressure.

The Gambian outfit fought back and were rewarded when Mariama Cham calmly slotted home from the penalty spot to reduce the deficit. Despite a spirited late push, Berewuleng could not find an equaliser.

The result marks a strong response from Aigles de la Medina, who were coming off an opening-day defeat to Mali’s USFAS. Berewuleng will now look to bounce back in their next group match as they aim to keep their qualification hopes alive.
