Sainabou Mbye, the ex-wife of Bob Keita and two others, will face manslaughter charges at the High Court in Banjul next week.

Ms Mbye and his brother Cherno Mbye, and Kibili Dambelly are all charged with manslaughter contrary to section 186 of the criminal code after appearing at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court this week.

The case was transferred to the High Court in Banjul as the magistrate court’s don’t have jurisdiction over a capital offence.

Ms Mbye was extradited by Interpol to Banjul last week over the death of baby Muhammed, the child at the centre of her ex-husband Bob Keita’s rape trial also at the High Court in Banjul.

Both Keita and Ms Mbye are at remand wing of Mile 2 in Banjul.
