Darboe Jula Estate Agency chief executive Lamin Darboe is facing a breach of contract lawsuit at the high court . 

The lawsuit was brought by African- American returnee Carla Morris over a property in Sanyang measuring worth 1.6 million dalasis. 

Ms Morris wants the court to make declaration that the real estate company and its CEO Lamin Darboe have no right to rescind the contract they signed on 9th July 2021.

She asks the court to make an order compelling the company and CEO Darboe to accept the remainder of the money for the land and for the company to issue her the official transfer of ownership of the land. 

Ms Morris also ask the court to make order for the company and CEO Darboe to pay her damages for the breach of the contract they signed.

She is also seeking the court to make perpetual injunction orders to restrain the company and its CEO, its employees and whosoever from trespassing on the land as well as a payment of 35% as interest from January 2021.

She is demanding 250,000 dalasis as legal and administrative cost.

However Lamin Darboe have pleaded with Carla Morris to grant time to allocate her another land after an alleged breach of their contract.

Meanwhile, Lawyer B. Secka told the High Court in Banjul that his client, Darboe Jula Estate Agency, does not want to continue with litigation of the case as they opt for out of court settlement. 

Lawyer Secka asked the court to grant them time to go with Mrs Morris for a site visit at their estates to select the land of her choice. 

The case has been adjourned to 24 March 2022 at 10 am for settlement.
