TMT FC secured their Gambia Football Federation First Division status after edging Elite United 1-0 in a dramatic Promotion/Relegation Playoff final.

After a tense first half, Elite United were reduced to ten men in the 58th minute when Hatim Barry was shown a straight red card, handing TMT FC a numerical advantage.

The breakthrough eventually came in the 73rd minute when substitute Kalifa Sanneh emerged as the hero, coming off the bench to score the decisive goal that sealed TMT FC’s survival.

The closing stages were filled with drama as Elite United’s Ebrima Ceesay was sent off in the 90th minute, reducing his side to nine men. Tempers also flared late on, with a TMT FC player and the Elite United head coach both receiving red cards.

The victory completes TMT FC’s great escape, ensuring they retain their place in the GFF First Division for another season, while Elite United’s promotion dream comes to a heartbreaking end.
