
Senegal have booked their place in the final of the WAFU A U-17 Tournament after defeating Guinea 3–0 in the semi-final at the Leopold Sédar Senghor International Stadium in Dakar.
The defending champions took the lead in the first half through Moussa Ndiaye, who headed home from Maguette Gueye’s inswinging free kick.
Guinea pushed hard for an equaliser in the second half and at one point had Senegal under intense pressure.
However, Senegal struck again in the 85th minute through star player Souleymane Commissaire Faye. The goal came after a beautiful combination of passes, punishing Guinea while they were committing players forward in search of a leveler.
Cheikh Thior then completed the victory in stoppage time to seal a 3–0 win. Senegal become the first team to reach the WAFU A U-17 final.
The second semi-final sees The Gambia face Liberia at 7:00 PM at the same venue, with the Scorplings aiming to join Senegal in the final.
