President Adama Barrow

Dr Bai Biram Jagne, former secretary general of All People’s Party, has expressed disappointment in Barrow’s government and said the country needs an overhaul of the governing system to effect developments.

Dr Jagne, who defected to the opposition PDOIS party, told Gambiana that all sectors in the country are not functioning as they should be.

“Nothing is functioning in the country, not the health sector, not the education sector, not the trade sector. The local governments are not functioning. The government itslef isn’t functioning,” he said.
“We need an overhaul of governing system in the country. I just cannot understand the problem with us Africans  because our forefathers were fooled by the West and they still keep fooling us,” he added.
Dr Jagne said he joined PDOIS for their foresightness in developing the country, but added that this government has no foresight to develop the country.

“If this government call me today to join them, I will reject their call outright because the way they are governing is very bad,” he said.
