Dodou Njie one of key actors of famous local drama show Fansung Jamaano played on State broadcaster, Gambia Radio and Television Services, has died.

The late actor was known for educative dictions in the show. He is the voice behind  famous characters like Lang Sambujang, Alhaji, Faa Demba and a few others.

He has been an actor that played several roles in Radio Gambia’s Dangbeela drama in Mandinka every Sunday evening for decades. 

“Dodou Njie has been an inspiration for several youngsters over the years. May his soul rest in peace,” journalist Falilou ML Janko said.

According to Mr Janko, the late doyen actor lived at Lasso Warf in Banjul.

Dozen of other Gambians have been paying their respect to the deceased for the significant role he played in social moral development of the country.

He was laid to rest this evening.
