Gambian singer Abdoulie “Attack” Gaye sparked concern among fans after he fell off the stage while performing live at ST Brikama Boyo’s Teriya concert, an event themed around friendship.
The incident happened in the middle of Attack’s performance, prompting an immediate reaction from people on stage who rushed to his rescue as the crowd watched in shock.
Moments after the fall, social media was flooded with messages from supporters, with many condemning those who mocked the incident online.
While some fans expressed worry about his condition, others described the fall as a painful reminder of how quickly a live performance can turn into an emergency.
One commenter claimed the incident was a “spiritual attack” and blasted those making negative remarks about the singer.
“This is spiritual attack on him… those people saying negative comments about Attack…,” the user wrote.
Another social media user said it was disturbing to see people laughing at what appeared to be a serious incident.
“That is sad to see!! Never mind people who laugh at it or mocking him. It just shows their true colours and how bad they wish people to failed,” the person commented.
A third commenter said they were disappointed by some reactions, especially after reports that Attack was rushed for medical attention.
“Walahi I was very disappointed after seeing some negative comments, some laughing even after seeing he was rushed to hospital,” the commenter said.
Others called for empathy, describing some online behaviour as toxic and unnecessary.
“It’s indeed sad seeing some people celebrating these unforeseen circumstance,” another wrote.
One fan added, “Some Gambians are just toxic. Why celebrate someone’s painful fall? I thought politics has divided us but NO some Gambians just need to cleanse their hearts that are full of negativity.”
As of publication time, Attack’s management has not issued an official update on his condition, but the incident has reignited conversations online about fan culture, empathy, and the pressures artistes face during live performances.
