Dock workers have unanimously ended their sit-down strike after the Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) management agreed to their demands.

“The GPA Management has amicably resolved the concerns of members of Gambia Dock and Maritime Workers Union in a roundtable discussion scheduled on Monday 2nd August, 2021,” GPA said late Monday.

“The resolutions on the demands were mutually agreed, as it has consistently been done for the past four years. 

“The Management assures the Dock Workers and all the stakeholders of its resolve for continuity of operations in the interest of the country,” it added.

Members of the Gambia Dock and Maritime Workers Union had staged the strike over certain demands they wanted the port management to fulfil for them.
