The Gambia Police Force will inaugurate Serekunda and Bundung Police stations that are given a new modern look.

President Adama Barrow is expected to preside over the inauguration ceremony on Monday.

Police said in a statement that the new makeshift stations serve as pivotal components within a broader initiative aimed at constructing new stations and enhancing the facilities of the existing police stations across the entire nation.

“The Office of The Inspector General of The Gambia Police Force is pleased to announce the forthcoming historic inaugural ceremony of the Serekunda and Bundung New Model Police Stations, set to take place on September 4, 2023. His Excellency Adama Barrow, The President of The Republic of The Gambia will grace this momentous occasion,” the statement said.

Police continued that the project was supported through the collaborative efforts of the GIZ Police Programme which is a Joint German-EU support to The Gambia Police Force.

“The core aspiration of this partnership is not only to strengthen operational capabilities but also to enhance the physical infrastructure of The Gambia Police Force, thereby making a substantial contribution to the Security Sector Reform,” the statement added.
