The Gambia has registered five new positive coronavirus cases, the Ministry of Health has said.

The country now has 17 coronavirus cases with 8 cases classified as active. 

Yesterday a 27-year-old woman from Bakau with no travel history and her child tested positive for the virus.

Health officials have reiterated their calls for people to stay home and exercise social distancing when out in public.

The country is in a 45 days lockdown, which ends this month.
