The Young Scorpions have started their preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be hosted in Argentina.

The Gambia U-20 team is hoping to make an impact at the FIFA U-20 World Cup after their impressive display at the African Nations U-20 tournament where they finished as runners-up.

Gambia will play France, Honduras and South Korea in Group F.

The Young Scorpions will open their campaign against Honduras on May 22 at the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas, Mendoza.

The tournament, with 24 teams from six confederations, will be played between 20 May and 11 June 2023.

Coach Abdoulie Bojang is hoping to surpass the Young Scorpions stellar debut performance in 2007 where they advanced to the second round of the tournament.

The 2023 FIFA World Cup is being hosted by Argentina after Indonesia was stripped of hosting rights amidst protests at the participation of Israel.
