Team Gambia has etched their names in the annals of history by clinching gold in the 3×3 basketball competition at the inaugural ANOCA African School Games held in Annaba, Algeria!

This dynamic quartet, featuring the incredible talents of Abdoulie Taylor, Mustapha Touray, Muhammed J. Camara, and Foday Gorgi Sowe, dazzled fans with their remarkable skills and unwavering determination throughout the tournament. The energy back home was electric as these young athletes captured the hearts of Gambians with their fearless performances.

Under the astute guidance of Coach Badara Jeng, the journey began with a nail-biting semifinal against Ghana, where nerves ran high, but our team emerged victorious. With their eyes set firmly on the gold, they advanced to the final, ready to face the Central African Republic in a showdown that promised intense action.

As the final whistle echoed across the court, it was Gambia that emerged triumphant, sealing a stunning 19-12 victory. This monumental win not only crowned them champions but also marked the country’s historic first gold medal at this prestigious event.
