A Gambian man allegedly stabbed to death by his compatriot at a German refugee camp has been identified.

Dawda Jallow, 25, is from Brufut Sanchaba who had travelled to Germany for a better life. 

He was found with stab wounds following a fight with another Gambian migrant on Sunday morning. 

Paramedics where called to the camp in Stuttgart after reports that a man was severely injured. 

Jallow died at the scene despite attempts to resuscitate him. 

The suspect, who fled the scene but later handed himself to police, is in custody helping the authorities with their investigation. 

He is believed to be a 26-year-old Gambian man. No other details of his identity has been revealed
