Gambian Kora maestro Jaliba Kuyateh received widespread acclaim from audiences with a new song dedicated to ECOWAS at the opening dinner of the ECOWAS Cultural Festival in Dakar, Senegal.

The six-day event has drawn hundreds of artists and scholars from ECOWAS and UMEOA member states.

It was officially opened by Senegal’s Prime Minister, Ousman Sonko, at the Grand Theatre Dodou Ndiaye Coumba Rose, in the presence of Senegalese Ministers and representatives from ECOWAS countries.

Representing The Gambia, Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Abdoulie Jobe, accompanied by Permanent Secretary Amie Njie and NCAC Director Hassoum Ceesay, are attending the festival.

The Gambian delegation includes 30 artists and cultural performers, led by the National Centre for Arts and Culture’s Director of Performing Arts as Chef de Mission.
