A Gambian migrant has died in a hospital in Malta where he was receiving medical treatment for an undisclosed illness. 

“We regret to announce the death of our brother Morro Makalo from Nyakoi Sutukoding in Wuli West.

“He is a Gambian migrant living in Malta. He died yesterday evening in Mater Die hospital in Malta” Ebrima Drammeh, Italy-based Gambian migrant rights advocate, told Gambiana.

“We pray for Allah to grant him Janna and all the departed souls. Rest well brother.” 

However, Mr Drammeh could not establish if the deceased remains will be flown to The Gambia for burial.
