Ghana have parted ways with head coach Carlos Queiroz following talks with the Ghana Football Association, just two days after the Black Stars suffered a 4-2 defeat to The Gambia in Accra.
The decision comes after Ghana’s difficult start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the Black Stars losing their opening two Group C matches.
Ghana first suffered a 2-0 defeat to Côte d’Ivoire before surrendering a two-goal lead against The Gambia, losing 4-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Ghana FA and Carlos Queiroz agreed to part ways by mutual consent following discussions about the team’s early qualifying campaign.
Queiroz had only been reappointed as Black Stars head coach in September, beginning a new mandate after his previous contract ended following the 2026 World Cup.
