Mai Ahmad Fatty, the leader of Gambia Moral Congress, has called for the introduction of discipline and morality in the nation’s school curriculum.

Mr Fatty said this while congratulating The Gambia national football team, The Scorpions, after their dramatic victory over Tunisia.

“We pray for triumph and glory for our nation, The Gambia. May Allah Grant us the honour of final victory and the safe return to our country, of our men and women in Cameroon,” he said.

“While investing hundreds of millions of Dalasis in sports for national glory, health and skills, our society needs to also focus more on character building of our youths.

“Skills development together with character development, shall produce model citizens for our nation’s overall sustainability,” he added.

“To this end, new subjects of ‘Discipline’ and ‘Morality’ should be introduced in the national curricula, starting at the primary stage. Discipline and sense of morality are required for the personality growth of our youths,” Fatty said.
