Residents in Wuli have welcomed the first heavy rainfall of the year with excitement and relief, as the downpour signals the beginning of the farming season.

A local resident told Gambiana that the rains arrived with strong intensity, expressing happiness at the long-awaited change in weather: “heavy, heavy rain in Wuli… beautiful blessings have finally come to the land. Tomorrow we go back to the land with joy.”

The early rains have been received positively by many in the community, particularly farmers who see the showers as a timely boost for land preparation and agricultural activities ahead of the main farming season.

The development comes amid seasonal forecasts which had earlier indicated that rainfall patterns this year could be intense and uneven across parts of the country, with some areas expected to experience early and heavy showers.

Meteorological outlooks have also suggested that early rainfall is often a positive signal for agricultural communities, marking the start of active planting and renewed farming hopes.

Residents said the rainfall has brought renewed optimism and readiness to return to the fields, as the rainy season gradually gains momentum across the region.
