Two men arrested in connection with the killing of bureau de change worker Isatou Fatty have reportedly been released after spending months in detention without formal charges, according to a report by The Point Newspaper.
The case relates to the fatal stabbing of the 21-year-old on December 20, 2025, at Hewal Bureau De Change in Brusubi, an incident that drew national attention and renewed concerns over public safety.
Following the attack, media reported that eyewitnesses said the victim, a resident of Talinding, was stabbed after a suspect entered the premises near the Medicare Clinic.
Police later announced the arrest of two suspects identified in reports as Musa Saine and Dawda Kora.
However, The Point now reports that the suspects have been released after remaining in custody for several months without being formally charged before a court.
The reported development is expected to generate public debate over the pace of investigations and the handling of the high-profile murder case.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the release or clarify whether investigations into the killing are still active.
Further details are expected as the matter develops.
