A flight carrying ex-guards of exiled former President Yahya Jammeh has landed at the Banjul International Airport.

Supporters of APRC have taken to social media to thank President Adama Barrow and their leader Fabakary Tombong Jatta and team for facilitating the repatriation.

The second batch of Jammeh’s former guards is expected to also arrive home in the coming days, Gambiana has been told.

“I’m grateful to be part of the delegation that went to received the escort team of H.E shiekh Prof Dr Alh Yahya Ajj Jammeh from Equatorial Guinea. It was indeed sad but also a joyful moment to see our dear brothers and sisters back to their own country,” he said.

“They are bonafide citizens of this country, who put their life at the forefront for the sake of peace and stability,” said Alieu Bah, a prominent supporter of APRC. 

“We all aware that there are laws that govern the military, with that due process will be followed militarily. Happy seen you back home guys!” he added.
