Police commissioner Ensa Jesus Badjie said he has “whole-heartedly forgiven” convicted criminal Soriba Conde after he told TRRC that he lied against Badjie that led to his jailing during former president Yahya Jammeh’s regime.

Mr Badjie was then the country’s Inspector General of Police.

Soriba Conde, a Guinean national once feared because of his ruthless criminal actions, asked for forgiveness during his appearance at the TRRC last month.

He said he falsely implicated Mr Badjie and was sorry for the hurt he had caused him.

Conde who is serving time at Mile Two prison was said to have masterminded a ruthless criminal gang who were terrorising Serreunda with their criminal activities including robbery and mugging.

In a reconciliation programme organised by the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission (TRRC) on Wednesday, Ensa Jesus Badjie said:“I don’t blame Soriba. I have forgiven Soriba whole-heartedly, between myself and God.”
