Kemo Ceesay, the President of the Gambia Football Federation, has wished the Scorplings good luck ahead of their WAFU A U-17 semi-final against Liberia today.

In a message shared on his social media handles, Kemo Ceesay described the semi-final as more than just a match, highlighting its importance in The Gambia’s pursuit of qualification for the CAF U-17 AFCON 2026.

“This is more than a semi-final; it is a decisive pathway to qualification for the CAF U-17 AFCON 2026, which remains our primary objective in this tournament.”

Kemo also urged the young players to stay disciplined, focused and united as they defend the national colours.

“I urge you to remain disciplined, focused and united, and to give your very best in defence of our national colours.”

The Scorplings take on Liberia at 7:00 PM today at Leopold Sédar Senghor International in Dakar, with a place in the final at stake.
