Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) leader Mai Ahmed Fatty has predicted that President Adama Barrow will defeat the opposition by a historic margin in the 2026 presidential election, citing the unity of the National People’s Party (NPP) Alliance.

Fatty made the remarks in Banjul during the handover of 10 vehicles by President Barrow to NPP Alliance leaders to support grassroots mobilisation ahead of the December polls.

“As long as we have the same intention and wish to support President Adama Barrow, it shows he is going to beat the opposition in a way that has never happened in the history of The Gambia,” Fatty said.

He described the vehicles as more than transportation, saying they represent the President’s confidence in Alliance leaders and their role in securing victory.

Fatty urged coalition partners to remain united and continue engaging communities across the country, arguing that unity remains the Alliance’s greatest strength.

The handover forms part of the Alliance’s preparations for the 2026 presidential election, with party leaders expected to use the vehicles to coordinate campaign activities and mobilise supporters nationwide.
