A man in Brikama New Town is in custody after beating his mother to death in a brutal assault on Monday, police say.

Momodou Alieu Bah assaulted his mother at their home leaving her with ‘severe’ head injuries.

The woman, 55, was rushed to Brikama Health Center where she was pronounced dead by medics.
