The Gambia head coach Johnathan McKinstry has named his final 25-man squad for the Scorpions’ upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Somalia and Ghana.

The Gambia will host Somalia on September 25th before travelling to face Ghana on September 29th.

McKinstry’s squad comes with several notable absences. Musa Barrow has been ruled out with a hamstring injury, while Abdoulie Manneh and Adama Sidibeh are also unavailable due to injury. Defender Mamadou Jobe has been left out due to fitness concerns.

Brighton & Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh is another notable absentee. Minteh has been sidelined with an injury and was not included in McKinstry’s initial 35-man provisional squad for the qualifiers.

The Scorpions will now turn their attention to the two-match qualifying window as they look to make progress in their AFCON qualification campaign.
