A migrant boat carrying approximately 127 people, including four women and a baby, is reportedly missing at sea after leaving Banjul on 7 August 2026.
According to Ebrima Migrants Situation, the boat has now spent 12 days at sea without any confirmed information about the whereabouts or safety of those on board.
The organisation said it has contacted Alarm Phone and relevant authorities as efforts continue to establish the boat’s location and the condition of the passengers.
The prolonged lack of contact has heightened concerns among families in The Gambia, who are anxiously waiting for news from relatives and loved ones believed to be on the boat.
The group said the vessel departed from Banjul with about 127 people on board, including four women and one baby.
However, there has been no confirmed communication regarding their journey since their departure.
A photograph of the boat has also been circulated in an effort to identify anyone who may have seen the vessel or received information about its movements.
Ebrima Migrants Situation is appealing to anyone with credible information about the boat or its passengers to come forward and share the information urgently.
The organisation has also urged members of the public to circulate the alert widely, saying even a single piece of information could help authorities and families establish what happened to the passengers.
The situation comes amid continuing concerns over the risks faced by Gambians and other West African migrants attempting dangerous journeys across the Atlantic in search of a route to Europe.
For the families involved, the immediate priority remains establishing the whereabouts of the boat and confirming the safety of everyone on board.
