The Gambia Red Cross Society in partnership with the National Disaster Management Agency has set up an emergency mobile health post for 300 flood victims sheltering at St. Augustine High School in Banjul.

Sanna Dahaba, executive director of National Disaster Management Agency, told reporters this morning during a distribution of food items to flood victims in Kanifing Municipality, his office collaborated with Red Cross to provide medication for the flood victims in Banjul.

“In collaboration with National Disaster Management Agency and the Red Cross have established medical centre at St Augustine High School where those hosted at the school are receiving all kinds of medical support as for now,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also said the government will soon start unconditional cash support to the flood victims.

“As at now, we are distributing food items like rice, sugar and oil. And in the susequence days the government will start unconditional cash transfer to flood victims,” he added.
