Opposition Gambia Democratic Congress national assembly candidate for Jeshwang Constituency Momodou Ebrima Cham widely known as MC Cham Jnr explained why he disapproved of President Adama Barrow’s leadership style.

“I reject those saying a parliamentarian cannot bring road projects and other development projects to his people. The national assembly members are the people who approved road projects.

“After that some people are saying MC Cham is an enemy of President Adama Barrow. I am not President Barrow’s enemy, I accepted what God has decided, but what I don’t accept is how Adama Barrow is governing the country in the area of living, in the areas of security and education, and the rampant corruption in the country,” he said.

MC Cham Jnr continued: “I will fight against such a leadership style and I will stand anywhere whether I am a national assembly member or not to fight against these issues.

“If he governs the country in violation of the laws of the country, I will stand in his face and tell him how you are governing the country is wrong.

“Today, he had toured the country, using the state resources despite the law giving him the right to tour the country and hear from people. But he has turned that tour into attacking people. He stood in those tours to criticise people who are paying him.

“And he was campaigning for his party which the law doesn’t ask him to do. But if I happen to be elected to the national assembly, I will make sure the budget for meet-the-people tours is drastically reduced.

“The budget he used to launch his tour to criticise people could have been used to invest in the hospitals to get enough medicine.”

“Today, what is happening in Foni, Adama Barrow has no mercy for the people of the Gambia. If truly the country concerns him, as what Yahya Jammeh fought against to allow the Senegalese force to base in the country, that’s what he has given Macky Sall within five years,” he added.
