The Gambian Police have launched a crackdown on the dangerous drug ‘Kush’ which continues to wreak havoc on youths in the country.

At least two young people are reported to have died after smoking it.

Kush, as it is locally called, is a drug made out of human bones rolled up and smoked like a cigarette or cannabis.  After a few puffs, the smoker is left stoned, unable to stand upright.

There has been a growing concerns about its influx in the country, which led to the tragic deaths of two people.

Police said they are collaborating with officers of the country’s drugs law enforcement agency to fight against the dangerous drug.

And they have arrested three people in a raid at a compound in Kololi.

“After a thorough search of the compound the suspects were found in possession of suspected ‘Kush’, a substance widely used by young people.  The three suspects remain under the custody of the police as investigations continue into the matter,” police said.
