The Gambia Police Force is investigating two separate alleged murder cases in the North Bank Region, both involving minors, authorities have confirmed.

The first incident occurred on September 29 in Ndofan Village, where four-year-old Musa Manneh was allegedly struck on the head with a stone by 16-year-old Samba Faal.

Musa later died from his injuries, and arrangements are underway for a psychiatric evaluation of the suspect.

On the same day, a second case unfolded in Daru Rilwan, involving 15-year-old Modou Njie and 13-year-old Mutarr Jawara.

According to reports, the two boys had fallen off a motorcycle while on their way to cut grass for their horses, sparking an altercation during which Mutarr allegedly stabbed Modou in the neck with a sickle.

Modou was pronounced dead at Njaba Kunda Health Centre.

Crime scene investigators have visited both locations. In Daru Rilwan, the sickle believed to be the murder weapon, along with other evidence, has been recovered for forensic analysis.

The Police are urging parents and guardians to exercise heightened vigilance over children, promote peaceful conflict resolution, and ensure that minors do not have access to dangerous objects.
