Madi Jorbateh an activist and human rights defender was called in for questioning at Kairaba Police Station over media interviews.

Mr Jorbateh wrote on his Facebook page earlier today: “Kaiarba Police station has ‘invited’ me for “questioning “today at 3pm, about the interview I gave to the media at the Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday.

“I shall respond to the call and continue to hold the state accountable and express my opinion as a citizen of The Gambia.”

A source told Gambiana that Mr Jorbarteh was asked to give a statement but he refused and police said if he didn’t give a statement he wouldn’t be allowed to leave the station.
