Police lead investigator has said the suspects over the killing of a 62-year-old Fajara woman will soon appear before a court of law.

Thomas RJ Gomez, who doubles as the police deputy crime management officer for Kanifing Municipality, said they have evidences to press charges against the suspects.

“We have few people who we are talking to and they are helping the police with their investigation. Progress is being made. We have gone a little bit far now and very soon the case will be at the court,” Gomez said at a news conference held at Kairaba Police station on Thursday.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday (6 September) in Bakau after the body of a woman was found with severe injuries.

Meanwhile, he urged shopkeepers at the Serekunda Market to help in reporting thieves to the police in a bid to curb criminal activities in the region.

“We are appealing to those of you at the Black Market and to other people that are working at the Black Market, let me also use this opportunity to inform you that when people come with items at you for sale, and you know this item is costly than what they are selling it to you report them,” he said.
