A pregnant woman is among three people who died today (6 April) in a tragic accident in Munyagen village in Jokadou.

Gambiana has been told the pregnant woman was being rushed to a nearby clinic when a taxi carrying her collided with a truck loaded with goods.

“The taxi driver who was driving a pregnant woman with another woman escorting her all died in the tragic accident. 

“The taxi driver, a pregnant woman with her unborn child, and another woman escorting the pregnant woman all died.”

Their remains were taken to Essau District Hospital mortuary.

“The only survivor was an old woman who is currently in a critical condition and she was rushed to Banjul for proper healthcare,” the eyewitness added.

The taxi driver has been identified as a 54-year-old man of Kerr Alagie Malick.
