Veteran journalist Alhagie Sarjo Barrow has died on Sunday aged 66, his family said.

Mr Barrow, who was born in Kundang, has been suffering from a long illness.

He worked for the state broadcaster GRTS where he read the news in Mandinka and had been a journalist for over four decades.

Alhagie Sarjo Barrow is a household name who would be sorely missed.
